The VTI verb ᐋᔥᑎᐧᐋᐴᑖᑎᒻ ashtiwaapuutaatim s/he blows it out is made from the stem of the VAI verb ᐋᔥᑎᐧᐋᐤ aashtiwaau s/he extinguishes it and the VTI verb ᐴᑖᑎᒻ puutaatim blow The class of the second verb (here a VTI) determines the class of the resulting verb (also a VTI).

In this way, new verbs can be created by putting two existing verbs together.
